For Chirstmas I knew I wanted to make my friend Salvador a scarf that was his favorite color. To me, it just wasn't good enough to go and buy a turquoise yarn, it needed to be all by me. So I dyed about 8 ounces of mixed wools with Kool-Aid and Wiltons Cake dyes. I then spun it up. I didn't even measure how much yarn there was, but man oh man was this scarf wide and at least 6 feet long. Needless to say he loved it! =D

Sounds like a great project and your friend is lucky to have someone like you. :) Pretty yarn. I have only one question, Dod you spin all the yarn for the scarf on a drop spindle?

Yep! It's on the spindle in the picture. I wanted a bluky spindle to help with bigger singles, so I had my dad make me one, it's about 8 ounces, so it's great for low twist, bulky yarn, but boy does my arm get a work out =D

I can imagine. Spindles will give your arm and wrist a workout.
